New Beginning

So well my dear Blogg, it is time to start using you again. And to those who read me, thanks for the patience at my lack of updates. First of all what happened to me? Well I started to write a tale which is in my head since i'm a teen, and managed to finish the first part, out of five. Also I did a couple of drawings to it. The second thing that happened  is that I managed to get a computer to work harder at improving my animation. The result can be seen here:

I know I have published this link before but I updated the file, so enjoy. At the same time I still managed to keep drawing. At a different pace I managed to keep drawing and slowly but steady but improving. I managed to gain a bit of speed and I'll make an effort to keep updating my blogg with the results of my training. (Yes you can imagine me saying that as a poor imitation of an anime )

After all that time I managed to land a job in the animation industry as a key animator. More details about it in another post. 

So this is the chosen drawing to be the First page of my new Sketchbook. By chance the date of this post is close to a Mexican festivity as well as the theme of the drawing. Oh well things happen. Till next time

New projects

Well, I have been working on a little bit of writting and mostly exercises to improve my drawings so haven´t really spent so much time on illustrations or more finished material. This piece is the first of what I hope to be a long term project. Cheers

Sometimes I just try to do some stuff to practice, kind of doodle thing it just takes too damn time... Still loves this art. Funny enough the main character, Norman, is just light enough that my computer lets me animate in peace. So let me quote: "Life is a silly walk..."

Well well, I haven't upploaded anything in a while (2 weeks and a half, I just checked). Not that I got that lazy but a blue Rhino messed up my computer. Nah. not really, more likely I spent more time doodling than finishing some drawings but hey, here are some color sketches.  So see you all next time!!

So after a while i managed to finsih the modeling of this character, well almost, I still have to clean the thing Up but it is a bit technical. Now for the next part come the Rigg and then some awesome animation :) It will still take some time since this is kind of the side project... really.. is mostly for the sake of art. Coffee Sketches II

Hi everybody, as (almost) every thursday, I bring a new piece of artwork. After a couple of difficult two weeks, on which I almost get addicted to series and my computer had an emotional break down (aka Virus), I'm back to my regular self. This mean addicted to coffee and sort of workaholic. Yei, hurray for me. This two pages of sketchbooks is what happens when I get sort of tired of drawing people as accurate as I can. Enjoy!

Beaty Museum sketches

So, today I went to the Beaty Museum at the UBC with a new friend. It was such a cool place. And best of all, tons of stuff to draw. Thousands of specimens and well I really wanna go back. In none related news my computer is fully operational again so I can play minesweep... So maybe later I can post more Maya stuff.

So this is the small short finished, hope you enjoy it. Next time I might actually put a whale falling instead of 16 tons. In other thoughts, is so damn hard to do everything but I guess is okey since I'm sort of waiting for the bus...

Blocking Pass of a side step animation

Well then, after a lot of trouble I ended uploading the video here directly.... this is the blocking pass of my most recent test. I'm really happy with the result so far. This video is a bit raw, it has no audio and it has the lowest quality possible... but hey it moves :p cheers and good night

Coffee faces

This post is about sketches, about people I just happen to meet once, or maybe twice. Why do they drink coffee? Why do they just go, take a warm sip of this black stuff and leave? sometimes they are by themselves, others with someone. Somehow I managed to capture some of these people in a serie of sketches...

My last Life Drawing class at Vanarts

It's kind of funny how fast the time goes by. One day we are meeting this weird guy with cool tatoos and the next day you are saying see you soon to a good friend. I think now the circle is complete and so this page of sketches are the last one I made during my time at Vanarts. Special Thanks to Clint who helped us to improve quite fast.

Everyday’s work / El pan nuestro de cada día

Hi everyone. This is a post about my everyday work. Currently I’m studying animation. My main objective is to learn the basis of it, and later on to get a job in the industry. On school we usually have 3 or 4 assignments per week. The first one is drawing. The second one is story and visual language where we learn all the stuff surrounding the animation process (such as story, storyboard, and aesthetic, among other stuff.) The third one is maya modeling and of course animation. Maybe I will talk about these things in a later post.

In my spare time I work in two other projects: Chaos’ Chronicles and Catrina. Chao’s Chronicles is a story I made based on the question what does the one with the conscious of being absolute thinks? Chaos Chronicles is the tale of Alexander and his quest to find the means to save his world from the imminent ending. Through this quest he faces this philosophical dilemma and other stuff.

Hola mis estimados lectores, éste es un post acerca de mi trabajo diario. Actualmente me encuentro estudiando animación. Mi principal objetivo en el transcurso de este año aprender las bases de la animación para poder vivir de ello. En la escuela tenemos regularmente 3 o 4 tareas/proyectos que trabajamos simultáneamente. El primero y más básico es de dibujo. El segundo es de narrativa y lenguaje visual donde  aprendemos los elementos que rodean a la animación (historia, storyboard, estética, etc…), modelado en maya y por supuesto animación. En otro post profundizaré más de lo que tratan estas materias.

Crónicas Caóticas cuenta la historia de Alejandro y su búsqueda de los medios para salvar su mundo de su inminente final.
